Boba Thai Cafe has offered to host a monthly gathering for the Traditional Book Club "as long as they order something--either food or beverage" which seems to be reasonable in exchange for use of their lovely second floor meeting space.

Book selections for upcoming months are:
  • July 16--The Bee Sting: A Novel by Paul Murray
  • August 20--The Wedding People: A Novel by Alison Espach
  • September 17--Heartwood: A Novel by Amity Gaige
  • October 15--Lula Dean's Little Library of Banned Books by Kirsten Miller
  • November 19--Mistress of the Ritz: A Novel by Melanie Benjamin
  • December 17--The Soul of an Octopus: A Surprising Exploration into the Wonder of Consciousness by Sy Montgomery
  • January 21--The Girl with Seven Names: A North Korean Defector’s Story by Hyeonseo Lee
  • February 18--I Was old to Come Alone: My Journey Behind the Lines of Jihad by Souad Mekhennet
  • March 18--The Water Dancer: A Novel by Ta-Nehisi Coates

Group leader Kerri Johanning notes: I think these books will provide quite a variety of reading and discussions. Some of these books have movies that were made and I think it would be fun to add a movie time to our schedule also if anyone is interested. Thank you for your input and your participation.
