Is there an age limit? 

No! People of any age are invited to join Downtowners. Our programs, events, and services are most likely to be attractive and useful to people who are nearing or at retirement age, but we welcome people from any decade. 

What if I don't live Downtown?

You wouldn't be the only one! Membership is open to anyone in Lancaster County, and our footprint continues to grow. However most of our current members have a love for the city, regardless of their address. The majority of our programs are held within the City of Lancaster, and most of our volunteers are centered in the 'Lancaster Metropolitan Area' as well. If you're not sure if this is the right fit based on your location, please contact the office so we can help you discern. 

Is there a village in my area? 

Maybe! There are about 300 villages like the Downtowners across the country. You can see if there is village elsewhere by visiting the Village to Village Network Map.

Can I get my friend/sister/parents/client a gift membership?

Of course! The more members engage within the village the more they get out of it. If you know that your loved one would enjoy being a part of this community (and they just don't need another tie, candle, or sweater) you can contact the office for gift membership options.
