The folks at Landis Place on King invite Downtowners to join them first and third Tuesdays of the month for Movie Night in Conexion, their second floor gathering place.
Local Hero is a 1983 British comedy-drama film. It stars Peter Riegert and Burt Lancaster . Riegert plays an American oil company representative who is sent to the fictional village of Ferness on the west coast of Scotland to purchase the town and surrounding property to build an oil refinery. The film received wide critical acclaim, and it holds a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes . The British Film Institute ranked Local Hero as one of the Top 100 British films of the 20th century.
