This is the long awaited trip to one of the most beautiful gardens on the east coast, Chanticleer. Originally the Rosengarten estate, the family transferred the property to a foundation that would open the garden to the public and conduct ongoing botanical research.

     Wednesday May 20, shortly after Mother’s Day, should find the garden in full glorious bloom, making for an enchanting day. This trip may be a good Mother’s Day gift if you are stumped for an idea for that special someone.

This will be a relaxed day, artists should feel free to bring some equipment, photographers will have a field day, and gardeners will have lots of ideas for new and interesting plantings.  Each person should bring her/his own lunch to eat in the designated spots, taking all trash back home.
