Downtowner Tana Woodcock will host Liberian native Gerri McCritty who will share the inspiring story of her life and the path that led to American citizenship, a Millersville University art degree and the opening of PAVAA—a gallery for Afrocentric performance and visual arts. We will be meeting in the gallery surrounded by much of Gerri’s artwork. With a bit of prodding, she may even do some drumming for us.
Gerri thanks Downtowners for inviting her to share her story. “Without our stories,” she says, “we do not exist. I am greatly humbled to be seen.”
On street parking is available on Duke and Queen Streets. You can also park in the LGH parking lot directly across from the gallery after 5:30. In respect to the gallery neighbors, please do not park on N. Christian Street.
