Schedule for the day

11:30 am:  Board the Red Rose Transit Bus #17 at Queen Street Transit Center. Upon arrival in Columbia we will meet our professional tour leader, Nora Motter Stark, for lunch at Griddles, plus an overview of what we will see and the history of one of Lancaster County’s most fascinating historic sites, now a happening place of growth and change.

Griddles reminds us of our own years of Letter Sweaters & Soda Fountains. We will have a front row view of Columbia’s historic district. Order lunch from their menu. Pay for your lunch choice.

1:15 : See and hear about the history, the events, the architecture, as we walk uphill between the mansions on Millionaires Row and the original ferry landing on the Susquehanna River. Columbia was founded by English settlers in 1726. This is a special year in its history.

3:30 pm: Board RRTA Bus #17

4:30 pm: Arrive in Lancaster, Queen Street Transit Center
