Now here's a novel idea for a mid-winter afternoon:

A long-time Downtowner and retired professor of classics Celica M. invites you to a discussion of the little book On Old Age by M.T. Cicero. The text was written more than twenty centuries ago but has not lost any of its freshness and optimism; it has been read and admired, among many others, by the likes of Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and Benjamin Franklin.

Our time together will include reading excerpts from the text followed by conversation.

Please do some reading prior to our being together by following this link to download or read selections from On Old Age

Or follow this link to purchase a lively version in today's English translated by Philip Freeman.
