Start your new year with a morning hike at the new Susquehanna Riverlands State Park, just across the river in York County. This New Years Day hike starting at 10 am, led by park staff, is open to the general public. Faith Drummond will coordinate a group of Downtowners.
The description of this hike from the park online calendar reads: "Join Susquehanna Riverlands State Park Staff for a first day hike on the newly rerouted Mason Dixon Trail. The hike will be about 2 miles, highlighting some of the spectacular river overlooks in the park. The terrain is fairly gentle hills. We will meet at the Overlook Trail Head. Parking lot is across Forge Lane."
Downtowners who register to participate will gather 8:45 at the Community Mennonite Church parking lot and arrange carpools. We will connect with registrants closer to the time to make final arrangements. If weather forecast is too challenging, we may decide to cancel.
