Gerald Wilson, a local historian and community leader in Lancaster, PA, will be giving a presentation on the turbulent 1960s in Lancaster from his perspective as a young resident. Interns (20 somethings) who are part of the Shalom Project will join Downtowners for the presentation and follow up discussion. The Shalom Project is a post-college gap year focused on service, spirituality and community.

The presentation focuses on Wilson's personal experiences during the 1960s, a period marked by racial tensions and social unrest in Lancaster. He was a young resident during the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. and witnessed the subsequent community response, including anger and unrest. Wilson's presentation offers a unique perspective on this era, highlighting the challenges and changes Lancaster faced during that time.
