The focus of this bird walk will be learning basic skills for first time birders or for those who consider themselves novices. We will be birding on the Manheim Twp Heritage Trail, an easy linear walk running just under two miles coming and going. The walk combines open fields and woods with several dead trees with bare branches for high perched birds.

Registrants will need to provide their own binoculars. We may see or hear Turkey Vulture, Song Sparrow, Red-tailed Hawk, Mourning Dove, Northern Cardinal, Tufted Titmouse, Carolina Wren, Field Sparrow, American Goldfinch, White-breasted Nuthatch, several woodpecker species,  and lingering Red-winged Blackbird.

(Parking spaces are available at the trailhead)
