Get together for an evening of conversation and to enjoy a home-cooked meal! Join Jeff Lawrence and Carol Overcash in their home on Friday, September 26, from 6-8pm. They are planning seafood-based appetizers and perhaps a fish stew or Caesar salad (anchovies optional). Jeff and Carol will provide the main course of fish pie, which is similar to shepherd's pie but with a whitefish base, as well as beverages.
To round out dinner, there will be non-fish side vegetables and dessert. Jeff and Carol will coordinate with guests to determine who will bring the other parts of the meal. They welcome guests to suggest a favorite dish of their own within the categories (seafood appetizers, soup or salad, side vegetables, desserts) or can provide specific recipes if you'd prefer. Don't be intimidated! The dishes do not need to be complex.
Street Parking is available on the 100 block of East Walnut St. and is free after 6pm. Their living space is on the second floor, so all guests need to be able to climb one flight of stairs. They can accomodate 6 guests.
If you are not a member of the Culinary Club Interest group, please consider signing up to join us for this type of event. Locate Interest Groups under the Events menu and join from that tab. The Culinary Club typically has at least one event/month, which will include cooking demonstrations, shopping adventures, and focused small group cooking sessions.
