Catch the 8:42 train to Harrisburg. Upon arrival, we will head out for a half-mile walk to the State Museum of Pennsylvania to see the current art exhibit, “Art of the State.” There will be plenty of time to extend our visit to include the permanent exhibits. (Museum admission, $6). After lunch at a nearby restaurant (Options include Aleco’s Italian Café, 714 N. Third and Roxy’s Café, 274 North Street) we’ll walk a short distance to the capitol building for the 1:30 pm tour of what many consider to be the most impressive state government buildings in the U.S. Following the tour we will walk a half mile back to the Amtrak station to catch the 3:08 train back to Lancaster.

Arrive at the Lancaster Amtrak station no later than 8:15. You may want to purchase your round trip ticket (Ask for senior discount) prior to Friday morning although there is seldom a long line at the ticket window.
