Boba Thai Cafe has offered to host a monthly gathering for the Traditional Book Club "as long as they order something--either food or beverage" which seems to be reasonable in exchange for use of their lovely second floor meeting space.
Book selections for the following six months are:
- Jan 15-The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Spark
- Feb 19-Daughters of the Bamboo Grove by Barbara Demick
- Mar 19-Chocolate Wars by Deborah Cadbury
- Apr 16-The Power of the Dog by Thomas Savage
- May 21-Slaughter House Five by Kurt Vonnegut
- Jun 18-Poverty, by America by Matthew Desmond
Group leader Kerri Johanning notes: I think these books will provide quite a variety of reading and discussions. Some of these books have movies that were made and I think it would be fun to add a movie time to our schedule also if anyone is interested. Thank you for your input and your participation.
