    Program Services

    • a free program of daily calls for members who would like a check on their safety and well-being
    • a Lancaster Downtowner volunteer makes daily calls at an agreed upon time
    • when scheduled calls are not answered, the personal emergency contacts identified by the member are notified
    • program is not a medical service

    How the Program Works

    • interested members complete an application after consulting friends and family to identify two people who could check on them during an urgent/emergency situation
    • volunteers commit to making daily calls for three month periods
    • backup volunteers are used to provide scheduling flexibility
    • volunteers undergo background checks, receive training, and complete brief reports
