For thousands of years, south-central Pennsylvania was home to a variety of indigenous tribes. Experience a full-scale replica of a Native long house and the restored Herr House homestead of “recently arrived” original Mennonite settlers of Lancaster, both on the same campus. Museum exhibits tell the story of “Quest or Conquest?” as these European immigrants occupied land that had been a thriving advanced community before their arrival.
We will meet at the parking lot of Community Mennonite Church to carpool to our destination about five miles south of Lancaster. Bring your own packed lunch to enjoy a picnic following the tour. Drinks will be provided. Cost per person is $14 which is required at time of online registration. Transportation for the short walk between the Herr House and Long House will be available if needed.
