Book Review—The Lucky One: A Memoir of Life, Loss and Survival in Eastern Europe

     Author Sherry Ostroff will talk about how her grandmother escaped with her mother from a pogrom in Russia during the Russian Revolution.  It is a fascinating story of survival.  Sherry will also include background on the Pale of Russia, the area where Jews could settle and how Jews were treated in czarist Russia.  She explains Jewish traditions.  The story continues into America where Sherry's family settled and started a new life. Sherry will present her book that captures this remarkable story and historic background.
