Lancaster Downtowners and Meals on Wheels Lancaster are pleased to announce that we’ve been chosen as one of United Way of Lancaster County’s Level Up & Launch Grant recipients!
We are excited to join forces and enhance support for people living in their community of choice! Our grant of $15,000 will be used for More Than a Meal - a collaborative initiative that will:
Connect seniors aging-in-place in Lancaster City to available support and community networks - without duplicating services.
Enhance volunteer training through monthly orientations that will educate community members on topics such as fall risk prevention strategies, signs of elder abuse and defining boundaries.
Share successes and lessons learned with our respective national networks.
More Than a Meal will facilitate enriched volunteer opportunities to support a healthy, safe community. Join us for a Virtual Q&A Session - meeting link will be sent after you register. We will share information about enrollment in this pilot program, and how you can volunteer to provide services such as daily check-in calls, social visits, household and yard assistance, technology coaching and/or more!
